Bad news for Virgin River fans

By
Virgin River

As if we haven't been waiting long enough, there's now another downer that has come out about Virgin River. Due to the strikes in Hollywood — which are finally over — the sixth season has already faced many delays. They were supposed to start filming last summer, but that turned out to be completely unfeasible. For now, we still don't know when filming will actually begin, but fortunately, the writers are already back to work, so there is progress.

The good news is that the second part of season five will be available online on Netflix on November 30 — and we will also get two special Christmas episodes. So far, only good news, but now let's move on to that sixth season.

Because besides the fact that we will probably have to wait quite a while, we will also get less: instead of the usual twelve episodes per season, we will now only get ten.

This was also the case in seasons one through three, until they ramped it up for the fourth and fifth seasons. And now they have switched back again, although it is not stated why.

All of this was confirmed by Ildiko Susany, a writer for Virgin River. Fortunately, it wasn't all bad news: she could also tell us that this sixth season will mainly revolve around Jack and Mel, and the fans will probably be very happy about that. It would have just been nice if we had simply received twelve episodes... Especially since we have to wait so long.
