11 x benefits of not going on vacation

Now that I am typing this article, my girlfriend just texted that she has already thrown up four times on a boat trip in Greece and that she wants to go home more than anything. After all, you'd rather be at home hovering over the toilet than sitting next to a couple of German tourists with a vomit bag in your hand. Just like you'd rather be at home under a always warm shower and at least lying on a good pillow in your own bed at night. You see: it's not such a punishment to spend your vacation at home. Are you also staying within the borders this summer and want to get rid of your FOMO? After reading the points below, you will spontaneously no longer have any issues.
1. No dirty toilet at a gas station
If there’s one thing you’d rather avoid, it’s those disgusting toilets at a remote gas station in France. If you know, YOU KNOW.
2. No hellish vacation hangovers
A hangover doesn’t make anyone more pleasant, but at thirty degrees, they somehow feel ten times worse.
3. You save some extra kilos
Those chocolate croissants and sugary donuts in the morning at the buffet will definitely add up after a while, yes.
4. You have good wifi everywhere
At home, you can enjoy watching that episode of And Just Like That without the connection being interrupted at least ten times.
5. You keep your skin happy
Really nice and all, that (red) brown tan, but after a week it’s almost gone and the skin is hanging off your nose.
6. No greasy fingers from sunscreen
Also something. Applying is already a thing, but those greasy fingers on your screen are even worse in my opinion.
7. You don’t have to miss your pets
Secretly, it’s really nice not having to take your sweet dog to a kennel.
8. You save a lot of money on summer clothes
All those maxi dresses and linen pants can just hang. You probably only wore them once anyway.
9. No hassle with parking
Try finding a parking spot in a tourist town around mealtime. In fact, good luck even getting there with Google Maps abroad.
10. You don’t have to wear a bikini every day
Another worry less, I think.
11. You’re not a pack mule
Speaking of the beach: at home, you don’t have to climb that hill every day like a pack mule with sweat on your upper lip.
Long story short: a staycation saves you a lot of hassle.
