Tip: ‘You don't want to miss this culinary piece of Nijmegen’

Bistrobar Bankoh

It may come as a surprise, but I am a real Arnhem girl. This is sometimes a bit awkward since my work mainly takes place in Amsterdam and the surrounding area, but to be honest, it doesn't even occur to me to leave this city. Except for my weekends, because then I often travel to beautiful Nijmegen where my boyfriend is hard to get rid of. We often find ourselves in a heated debate about which city is better, and I must honestly say that Nijmegen, besides the fact that the nicest man in the world lives there, often wins on the culinary front.

So we found ourselves last weekend in the wonderful world of Bistrobar Bankoh, where you embark on a journey through Asia via the delicious street food dishes on the menu that you will never forget. That sounds promising, but take it from me that this restaurant truly fulfills all your date night dreams.

The dishes at Bankoh are perfect for sharing and can be ordered in multiple rounds, so you can fully enjoy the explosion of flavors that each dish brings. I'm not lying when I say that my taste buds have never been this happy thanks to the pani puri tuna, chicken dim sum, fresh crab salad served in half an avocado, butter chicken with cashew, and a dessert of baked white chocolate that I still dream about. In addition, with each dish, you receive an extensive explanation of what is exactly in front of you, and the service ensures that you never have an empty glass.

With all this combined with a spectacular view over the Waal and a warm, romantic atmosphere in the restaurant, you are guaranteed an amazing evening that you absolutely want to write home about. Long story short: you don't want to miss this piece of culinary Nijmegen.
