The great sorrow of Priscilla Presley
Priscilla Presley was destined to become Elvis's wife. Her father was a military officer in Germany, the country where she met Elvis, who was serving in the army there. At just fourteen, she was far too young to reciprocate his love, but after eight long years during which Elvis Aaron Presley continued to declare his love for her, she married him. The marriage lasted only six years; his pill use and the wild life of a star became too much for her. But he remained her great love. She never remarried. In daughter Lisa Marie, she saw her husband: his features, his eyes. Like her father, Lisa Marie was not meant for the ordinary. Four marriages (including with Nicolas Cage and Michael Jackson), four children, of whom Benjamin found life too heavy in 2020. A life full of turmoil that abruptly ended last Thursday. That week she had still attended the Golden Globes ceremony to support the beautiful film that Baz Luhrmann made about her father. She looked a bit unsteady. But the shock was great when a few days later she suffered a heart attack in her home in Calabasas and died as a result. Her loved ones are in mourning. Especially mother Priscilla, who now has to bury their joint daughter after losing her great love.

Tom Hanks who played the role of Elvis Presley's manager in the film and therefore had a lot of contact with Lisa Marie over the past year, wrote this message together with his wife. “We are heartbroken over the loss of Lisa Marie Presley. Absolutely broken,”
John Travolta. “Lisa baby girl, I’m so sorry. I’ll miss you but I know I’ll see you again. My love and heart goes out to Riley, Priscilla, Harper and Finley.
Rita Wilson, the wife of Tom Hanks, wrote another message. A mother should never have to lose a child,” she wrote. “Lisa Marie lost her precious son Benjamin, Priscilla loses her only daughter. It’s too much. Sending love to the family, prayers for peace and strength.
The exact date of her funeral is not yet known. What is certain is that she will be buried at Graceland. Next to her son Benjamin and by her father Elvis.
