I often really enjoy it when celebs start something in the food industry themselves, especially when you totally don't expect it. Miraval from Brad Pitt (and formerly Angelina Jolie) is something I really appreciate as a wine lover, I can also enjoy Bram Krikke's chips, and soon I'm going to make hot wings with Ed Sheeran's hot sauce. Yes, the latter is bringing Tingly Ted’s to the market and just that name I think is awesome.
Apparently, Ed can make us cry with his songs, but also with super hot sauce. I love it. And if you think this is just a marketing stunt and that he has nothing to do with it: that's not true. Behind the scenes, Ed has been working with the producers on this for over two years. This man loves his hot sauces, that's clear.
Two variants: spicy and hot spicy
Also known as Tingly or Xtra Tingly; I'm secretly very curious how hot that extra spicy one is. Anyway, according to Ed, these sauces can go with anything: fries, nasi, fried chicken, and tacos. Or on your toast. On your omelet. So basically everything. Will this be the replacement for sriracha? I'm curious.
Where this passion for hot sauces comes from for Ed, that he wanted to bring one to market himself? ‘I travel a lot, so it seemed like a good idea to have a bottle in my suitcase wherever I go that can add some spice to every meal. I knew I didn't want a watery hot sauce, since those usually get banished to the same shelf with random hot sauces. I wanted to make a sauce that could take the same prominent place as ketchup.’ Okay, okay, this man has thought about it.
Where can we buy this?
Yes, good question. We just have to wait a little longer: Tingly Ted’s it will be on the shelves from March 20, but then we can just go to Appie and Jumbo. How ideal is this, right?.
