And yes, it happened again. Yesterday I walked into the vintage store of Danie Bles with Lotte, where Truce, Danie's lovely mother, was standing. ‘Is that your daughter?’ she asked as she pointed to Lotte. To which, thank the gods, she added that I looked so good and fresh. And again I thought: it's not strange: Lot could have been my daughter if I had met my great love at 25 and thrown that pill strip in the toilet. So the fact that Lot could be my daughter is just a compliment.

Here comes a warning for a number of oh so true clichés. Age is just a number, we should be happy that we are allowed to grow older at all, and the third: you get the appearance you choose. Now you won't hear me say that a wrinkle-free life, in every respect, exists. My mother, a beautician, always told her clients: ‘But madam, your wrinkles, you have collected those in your life by laughing, crying, and being moved.’ And that's true, but my same mother also said: ‘Apply, apply, apply and do so with the best creams.’ And you couldn't start too early with that.

Lot and I have previously written about the latest cream from Lancôme and as true missionaries we are now preaching the gospel of this cream. Because if there is a cream we believe in, it is this one. Why? Because it is based on years of scientific research. The Renérgie H.P.N. 300-Peptide Cream fills fine lines, combats pigmentation spots, and stimulates your skin (through the 300 peptides) to rejuvenate in the deeper skin layer. They even applied for a patent on that.

The funny thing is that this cream is suitable for both Lotte, in her tight thirties, and for this fresh fifty-something. Why? We both have fine lines, yes, even Lot with her short nights because baby Wolf is craving a bottle or just some attention. And pigmentation spots can arise because you've been allowed to walk on this earth longer, but also due to pregnancy or sitting in the sun a bit too much. Thus, the cream adapts, as it were, to the needs of our skins, because the active ingredients serve both our goals.

One of the most important active ingredients of this cream is the peptides. No less than three hundred. Peptides form a chain of amino acids and thus stimulate your skin to produce collagen. Because you can never have enough peptides, the clever minds at Lancôme gathered not one, not two, but three hundred in a jar. Hence the 300 in the name, indeed. Also worth mentioning is that Lancôme has discovered new peptides and that while most creams work with synthetic peptides, Lancôme has succeeded in processing peptides from plant extracts. Flaxseed, lupine, and peas are the main suppliers of the green peptides.

Then there are the fine lines. We like to see those filled. For that, hyaluronic acid is the secret weapon. Hyaluronic acid can absorb up to a thousand times its own weight and thus has an intensely filling effect. Ideal for the fine, dry lines around your eyes and mouth.

As you age and occasionally find your face in the sun, the chance is great that pigmentation spots increase, but they can also occur as a side effect of pregnancy, as I mentioned earlier. Niacinamide is the ingredient that sharpens the knives for the fight against skin aging.

What we are also excited about is that the jar is refillable and the texture is silky soft. Applying the cream is already a zen moment. And yes, of course, it smells nice. Lancôme, remember? And it is suitable for all women, so both for our fruity Lotte and for this vintage fresh fifty.
