5x why you find your fling a bit more enjoyable than you think

Finding your fling more likable than you think

If you're single, there's a chance that you occasionally go on a date. Maybe it's so much fun that you want to see that person more often, but you had promised yourself not to develop feelings for anyone. It could be that you just got out of a relationship and wanted to enjoy the single life. Or you want to know if that's still the case: check the following points. There's a good chance that you find that person much more likable than you actually thought.

1. Checking your phone
It's logical to check your phone when you receive a message from that person, but if you start to like someone a bit too much, you'll be checking your phone 24/7. Whether you hear that notification or not: you unconsciously check your lock screen to see if anything has come in. Still no response? Try again in a minute.

2. Putting in a little extra effort
The chance of running into your fling at the supermarket on a Sunday morning is, of course, very small, but that doesn't mean there's no chance at all. That's why you try to put in a little extra effort in the morning by applying an extra layer of mascara and concealer on that one pimple. Yes, I see through you. Leave that gray tracksuit you've been wearing for a week at home. Just a tip.

3. Remembering the smallest details
When my friends say they have an appointment with the beautician next week, I can guarantee that I'll forget that within an hour. With your fling, it's a completely different story. There's a good chance that you almost know their entire yearly schedule by heart. Not because it's so interesting, but because you unconsciously remember everything they say. You sometimes know that agenda better than your own.

4. Adopting the same interests
When you start to develop feelings, you want this to be mutual. You do everything for it. Suppose your fling's taste in music is completely the opposite of what you listen to, you'll still listen to that music in the hope that you'll like it too. It often lies in the small things, but whether this makes your fling find you more attractive, I wonder. Sometimes this forced feeling can actually work a bit contradictorily.

5. A smile from here to Tokyo
If you spontaneously start smiling while daydreaming about your fling, then it's really a bad sign. All those dream scenarios in your head make you develop a sort of god complex about that person, and the people around you notice this too. As soon as that name comes up, you can't stop laughing. Whether you'll still have that perfect version of them in your head in a month is another question; after all, it's just a fling. You never know.
