Flights to Bali for less than 500 euros

No idea how you all are doing, but my winter depression is ON. As in: bigger and stronger than ever. I also have the feeling that it comes around the corner earlier every year and I am far from happy about that. So yes, I finally bought a good light lamp, but if you have more tips for a serious winter depression: tips are more than welcome.

I only have one remedy that really works: going towards the sun. And so I dream about it day and night, without really having a vacation in sight. I want to change that, but the question is: where to? Since the end of corona, I have been saying that I really want to go back to Bali (I was there in February 2020, just before hell broke loose), but it is now being made very easy for me.

The people at VakantiePiraten have found an amazing deal again: for €496 you fly to Bali. Return. Sorry, but then you are almost a thief of your own wallet if you don't do that?!

And just about terrible flight times: they are actually quite reasonable. You fly in the evening from Amsterdam to Zurich, where you have a layover of over an hour, and then you fly on to Singapore, where you have almost three and a half hours layover. From there, it's only two and a half hours and then you're sitting with your butt on Bali. You arrive the next evening and the outbound journey takes almost 21 hours. Sure, that's long, but there are (still) no direct flights, so the fastest option is almost 18 hours and many hundreds of euros more expensive. Give me those three extra hours, no problem.

The return journey is a bit longer, as it takes you 27 hours, which means you have almost 8.5 hours layover in Singapore, at Changi Airport. But if you've been there before, you know: that's really not a punishment. It has been voted the best airport in the world multiple times and you can easily sleep for a few hours, eat great food, get a massage, or watch a movie, and don't forget the special indoor garden.

For the same price, you can also spend 11.5 hours in Zurich on the way back, if you want to spend a day there. Well, if you're there anyway...
