Today we eat: on the terrace of Qlique

I think everyone in the Netherlands has been busy with just one thing these past few weeks: seeking coolness, preferably on the very best terrace. That's at least what I hear a lot around me here in Amsterdam. And understandable, because we had to wait quite a long time for that sun, and now it's finally here... And it's really scorching hot. But that's also the perfect excuse to hit the terrace at every free moment, preferably with a delicious rosé.

In that search, I came across a really nice place that had been on my bucket list for a while, but where I still hadn't been since it opened two years ago. So it was definitely time, and thus I was enjoying myself this week on the terrace of Qlique, in the Amsterdam Pijp. The terrace isn't very large, but it's very cozy. There are nice bistro tables, making you feel like you're in the Côte d’Azur.

And the menu and wine list contribute to that as well, by the way. Last year, I went on vacation to the Côte d’Azur for the first time, and I really fell a bit in love. The extensive lunches (with rosé) and dinners (with rosé), the lovely terraces, and the sun — this evening at Qlique really brought me back to that holiday feeling.

So a recommendation in Amsterdam, whether you live near the Pijp or not. Definitely start with a glass of their bubbles, order some oysters, and don't skip the prawns. Thank me later.
