Netflix Tip of the Day: You are so not invited to my Bat Mitzvah

I always find Adam Sandler's movies a bit hit-or-miss... For example, I think movies like Murder Mystery are fine to watch (and there's enough happening so you don't get bored for a second), but I get tears in my eyes when I think back to the horror that is Jack and Jill, the only movie I've ever walked out of. That something like this was ever approved by studios is something I will never understand.
What I can appreciate, however, is that Adam Sandler has it all figured out; he knows he doesn't create the best masterpieces but is completely okay with that. His plan? Making movies with friends in beautiful locations. So it's no coincidence that he has filmed quite a few movies with bestie Jennifer Aniston, and it's also not surprising that they filmed in locations like Hawaii. Mixing work with pleasure: that's what Adam Sandler has built a million-dollar career on. A bit jealous, I must say.
So too is his latest film on Netflix, called You are so not invited to my Bat Mitzvah. The only difference here is that it is actually well received by viewers. In fact, many people are calling it his ‘best movie ever’ on Twitter.
This film is different from many of his other films, actually funny, refreshing and innovative, and not as silly as his previous creations. What is the film about? The title gives it away a bit: Stacey Friedman is preparing for her Bat Mitzvah, but it doesn't go smoothly.
And Adam Sandler? He was just having a great time, as his wife and two daughters also star in the film.
