This is the city that we should visit according to Lonely Planet in 2024

If there is a company that knows about travel, it is of course Lonely Planet, for years the standard go-to for tips regarding travel and destinations. Even with the rise of all travel blogs, many travelers still remain loyal to the Lonely Planet as a guidebook. Did you want to know if a certain hostel, restaurant, or activity was nice? If it was mentioned in the Lonely Planet, then you knew: that’s a good choice.

And so I trust them on this as well; they have crowned a city as ‘top city to visit in 2024’. And I can give you three, five, or even ten chances to guess it, but I don’t think you’ll come up with it quickly.

It is the capital of Kenya: Nairobi. They arrived at this city as the winner through interviews they conducted with over 200 experts about their predictions and experiences regarding travel. A surprising number one, I think, but the number two is not surprising at all: Paris. Personally — and I know many people won’t understand this — I really don’t like Paris at all. So I’ll skip that one, but I am curious about number three: the Canadian city of Montreal.

Also regarding countries, a prediction was made, and the top three looked like this: Mongolia, then India, and then Morocco. A pretty surprising top three, right? Although I would also really like to go to Mongolia, so I completely understand that number one.
