Or than your sister or your partner. Some people bruise faster than others. This has nothing to do with being strong or weak, but mainly with the thickness of your skin. A bruise is simply blood that spreads because the blood vessel has burst, for example because you bumped into something. The bigger the bruise, the more blood vessels are battered. If you have thin skin, you will see the bruise faster than if you have thicker skin. The thickness of your skin is again related to hormones. This is why women bruise more often than men.

Medication use can also play a role. If you use Prednisone, you are likely to have more bruising.

A final less common cause is called von Willebrand disease. This is when you have a deficiency of a protein that makes your blood clot. As a result, such a burst blood vessel does not heal quickly and you keep bruising.
