Netflix tip of the day: The Perfect Find

It's a celebration because there's a new romcom on Netflix, and I think that should happen every week. Every week, I have a day or an evening when I want to watch something new, but preferably without having to think. Anything but that. And romcoms are of course the perfect movies to put on. Only... I've pretty much exhausted that category on Netflix, so this new addition is very welcome to me.

It's called The Perfect Find and it's about Jenna, played by Gabrielle Union. She's now 50 years old, but in my opinion, she just stopped aging at twenty. Unbelievable: she looks amazing – I would love to know that secret. Jenna is fired in a rather spicy way (she works in fashion) and has to look for new work.

She finds it, but soon faces an unwelcome surprise: the guy she kissed at a party turns out to be the boss's son. Awkward. He doesn't necessarily mind, as he wants to go for it, but Jenna is quite hesitant. She doesn't want to jeopardize her new job and has a little trauma left over from her last dismissal.

I don't know how the movie ends, but I guess that Jenna and her new lover will get their happy ending because that's the wonderful thing about these kinds of films: predictability all around, and we love that.

An additional plus for me is that the film is set in New York; the location of the aforementioned party is the Boom Boom Room (at the top of The Standard hotel, in the Meatpacking District). I always find films and series set in The Big Apple just a bit more magical, especially when they're filmed in these kinds of hotspots.
