The Netherlands has the biggest Christmas lovers in Europe

All I want foooor Christmaaahaaas ííhíííhííís… What a nice song it remains, right? It's really a lovely moment every year when Mariah Carey can be dusted off again and we can shamelessly put this song on repeat. Although I think Stop The Cavalry is also a great Christmas song (by Jona Lewie, although it has very little to do with Christmas if you listen to the lyrics), just like Mistletoe by Justin Bieber and actually I find (hopefully I won't get angry readers on my back now) Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) by Mariah Carey much more enjoyable than the Christmas hit she is known for.
We take Christmas quite seriously in the Netherlands, that has been proven. Holiday site Holidu went on a quest: where in Europe are the most Christmas lovers? Well, you would never guess, but yes, it's us: the Netherlands is the biggest Christmas country in all of Europe. Holidu came to that conclusion by looking at the number of Google searches that included Christmas-related words. They then look at how that relates per number of inhabitants of the country and well, there was no doubt about it: in the Netherlands, we are the most Christmas crazy. We scored 100 points because we searched for something Christmas-related on Google 183,100 times. To be honest, I expected the United Kingdom to be in first place because Christmas is so big there. But the boss above the boss, because we seem to find it just a little bit more fun.
Curious about the top five? Here it comes.
1. Netherlands (score: 100)
183,100 searches
2. United Kingdom (score: 99.10)
691,400 searches
3. Denmark (score: 97.33)
60,380 searches
4. Norway (score: 96.18)
55,400 searches
5. Ireland (score: 90.20)
45,590 searches
