I often find it surprising how bizarre sites like ChatGPT are, or how AI can now also photoshop for us (although that is with varying success). It has gone so fast, hasn't it? Five years ago, I really wouldn't have believed that we could ask a website questions that would come back with a good answer in no time. In that same category, I have now discovered a website that I might find even more disturbing. People call this the scariest site currently on the internet, and to be honest, I understand why.

The website PimEyes can find all photos of you on the internet. Uh, excuse me? I obviously took the test and had two of my own photos ‘scanned’ and it seriously works: I find thousands of photos that have ever been posted of me on the internet. Even photos from years ago (when I dyed my hair black in a moment of insanity) in which I am tagged on Facebook. Terrifying.

‘Fortunately,’ the search is a lot less successful if you only upload one photo, so this site is not completely foolproof. But it also shows on which site your photo was found, so that can be handy — who knows, your face might be somewhere without you knowing.

It might also be the case that you come across some doppelgängers of yourself here and there. An interesting site, therefore, but I still find it scary.
