Why you should also sleep naked in winter

By

Thanks to the fact that the heating is very low at home and I am simultaneously a huge cold person, I live at home 24/7 in my tracksuit. I get up in it and I go to bed in it. It definitely doesn't come off. Besides the fact that it is just wonderfully warm, I notice that it helps me get out of bed more easily in the morning, knowing that you won't get cold the second you throw off your blanket. But what turns out? Actually, such a thick woolen sock pajama is not good for you at all. According to research, it's better to take off your clothes at night, even if there are icicles hanging on your window. That it has physical benefits, okay, fair enough, but on a mental level, it also has its advantages. Bad news for me then.

You fall fall asleep faster
Sleeping naked ensures that your body independently regulates your body temperature. This plays an important role in the timing of your sleep. By allowing your body to cool down, your brain receives a signal faster that it's time to close your eyes. Your body needs to drop exactly one degree to fall asleep.

It promotes more intimacy
For your relationship, it also works wonders, but that seems like a no-brainer to me. If you both feel cold, you quickly snuggle up to each other, which creates skin-to-skin contact. This releases oxytocin, a hormone associated with bonding and trust, which ultimately helps improve your relationship.

It improves the skin
Sleeping in clothes may feel nice, but it is absolutely not good for your skin. You are more likely to suffer from clogged pores because your clothing hinders the ‘ventilation’ of your skin. It can even be a major cause of acne on the back. A pajama shirt that you've been rotting in for at least a week is, of course, an ideal breeding ground for these bacteria.

It boosts your self-confidence
It may sound a bit airy-fairy, but sleeping naked can lift your self-confidence. Your body image and self-worth improve because a naked body encourages you to simply accept your natural body. As it should be.

It's good for down under
Yep, also your vagina you do it a favor. By sleeping without underwear, it gets more air down there and it doesn't get too warm for bacteria to spread. This prevents you from getting a yeast infection, which is often caused by insufficient air circulation due to a too-tight thong. It already doesn't feel good, and the consequences are even worse. So you want to prevent that.
