Wow: your partner thinks about breaking up this often

As someone who overanalyzes everything and can get incredibly stressed about literally anything, I find this really unpleasant news. Because this is probably the worst nightmare if you're in a (happy) relationship; that your partner suddenly breaks up with you. And then you try to convince yourself that this is really not the case. Your relationship is going well, right? Why would your partner do that?
Well, then I have bad news for you. According to research we greatly underestimate how often our partners think about ending the relationship. And that's obviously not good news. This research was conducted among both men and women, and it turned out that the percentages are fairly similar for both; both men and women often think about breaking up.
And those numbers are not insignificant, you know. 37 percent indicate that they constantly think about breaking up and 33 percent say they sometimes think about it. In total, 70 percent think about breaking up, only 12 percent say they never think about it, and 20 percent do so very rarely.
Well, wow. Sorry, but that's just extremely high, right? I should mention that this percentage was by far the highest in relationships that were not going well at that moment (which makes sense): 87 percent were thinking about breaking up.
In relationships where partners indicate they are ‘extremely happy’, still 34 percent sometimes think about breaking up. That gives the saying ‘everything can break’ a bit of extra weight.
So what holds us back from actually breaking up? The main reason for that is being afraid of the regret that comes afterward. The next main reason is not wanting to hurt the other person.
Well, sorry that I couldn't brighten your Sunday with better news, but if your relationship is going really well, definitely try this viral TikTok trend; your relationship can only get better from it.
