The special journey of Micha Models

Most of the time when my friend Micha (yes, her from Micha Models) is abroad, she is in New York, Milan, or Paris. Or she is dazzling me with an adventurous trip to the Philippines where she is with her handsome family. This time her trip is certainly adventurous, but the glamour is hard to find. Micha is in Zambia with her husband Sander Emmering. They will cycle for nine long, warm days to raise money for Orange Babies. This organization is dedicated to women with HIV and their children. They provide education, orphanages, meals, and microloans, enabling women to start for themselves.
‘This is how she saw a baby a few months old that was found in the sewer.’
There was a serious fall (‘Fortunately nothing broken’) on day one, blisters and tired legs, but it is mainly the encounters that Micha will remember. She saw a baby a few months old that was found in the sewer when it was a few days old. It now found shelter in the orphanage.

During a visit to one of the schools, there was a girl who took Micha's hand and didn't want to let go. ’When we were leaving, she asked if she could come with me. I couldn't anymore!’

Micha wants to call on people to make a contribution. ‘With the donations from this tour, we pay for the school meals of 350 children. If they don't get meals, they have to work. I have seen the tiniest children working in the fields. It is so intense.’

So if you want to do something good today, then transfer something. Even if it's just what you would otherwise spend on two gin tonics today. I can't look into your wallet, but if you can spare something and consider a good cause, let it be this.
