The hotel in Lapland where you want to stay

By

Lapland has been on my bucket list for so long, and it looks like it won't be long before I actually go there. Transavia is flying directly to Finnish Lapland this winter (from December 23 to March 17, 2024). That means you won't be traveling for more than three hours, which makes a big difference. Before, you always had to transfer and you would definitely lose a day traveling, which is a shame because you want to have as much time as possible there.

Because if I may hear the stories, it's really beautiful there, and I've also done a bit of research myself... And I'm afraid that a week is absolutely not enough in terms of accommodations. The hotels here are really amazing, and I'll give you a tip about the most beautiful one.

That is, in my opinion, the SnowHotel, where you stay in small igloos. Of course, in the winter period, you also have the best chance of seeing the Northern Lights, which makes it even more special. The SnowHotel also has a snow sauna (love it), several restaurants, an ice bar, and even a sky bar. Just imagine: gazing at the Northern Lights with some delicious cocktail and then diving into your own igloo.

And the best part: if you book smartly, it's not that expensive at all. I actually found this resort through HolidayPirates (the American version of VakantiePiraten), and in February it's only 200 euros per night. Still a lot of money, of course, but for Lapland, it's really a bargain, especially if you have your own igloo. I'm going to book right away.
