These are the results of the National Sex Survey of 2023

How often do we have sex on average? And where? What positions? Do women often orgasm during sex or not? And: do we find all this important?

All questions we have asked ourselves at some point (don't lie). EasyToys knows this too, and that's why they went looking. Because if anyone has the reach to do proper research on this, it's them. That's why they conducted the big Sex Survey and the results have now been announced. Bet you didn't see this coming?

80 percent of respondents found a good sex life essential, but that doesn't surprise me much. What does surprise me is that 22 percent are currently not satisfied with how their sex life looks right now. Quite a lot, right?

But what constitutes a good sex life varies from person to person and also depends on whether you are in a relationship or not. When you are not in a relationship, it may also be that you are mainly reliant on solo sex. That's not a punishment, because the chances are high that a vibrator like the Mini Wand does it better than a random one night stand.

If you are in a relationship, you have sex more often per month. Right? That might still be up for debate, because most people don't manage two to three times a week. The majority (33 percent) does it three to four times a month. 25 percent indicates that they do it several times a week, which I still find a fairly high number. Notably, 18 percent say they have ‘almost never’ sex. A particularly high number, isn't it? They say that introducing sex toys into your relationship and sex life can boost that number. I can totally imagine that, because sex toys for couples are really a lot of fun.

If people still believe in the myth that sex is all about penetration: absolutely not. 60 percent say that external stimulation (like oral sex) is essential for an orgasm. Only 19 percent say they find it easier to orgasm through vaginal penetration. Crazy: 10 percent of women say they easily orgasm through masturbation. Ten! I expected that percentage to be so much higher. If more women had the Satisfyer at home, that would definitely be higher.

Especially since that's what we prefer to see: porn where people are masturbating is by far the most popular among women. 54 percent prefer to watch that. And a large part of them has also purchased some help; according to EasyToys, the FemmeGasm 2 is now the toy that everyone wants to have at home. What's most popular among men? Porn where people of the same sex have sex (47 percent), but right after that comes masturbation porn (46 percent).
