This is the month that most people start an affair

Maybe you've heard that most people cheat in January, and that's true. This is thought to be related to the holidays that may have gone terribly, making unhappy couples more likely to see if the grass is greener on the other side, and with that terribly executed Christmas and New Year's, January becomes the month to take a crooked skate.
But what's striking is: in January it's often just a one-time thing. There is actually another month in the year when people start affairs. Not just a one-time cheat, no, actually starting a relationship with someone else. And that month is September. What an honor that I have my birthday on September 1st and thus get to open that festive month... Ahem.
But why September? According to research is a long summer vacation not ideal for relationships at all. Men (34 percent) and women (32 percent) indicate that so much quality time with their partner during the summer has actually made them think about ending the relationship.
Being continuously with your partner, like on a long vacation, is not always good for your relationship. In fact, both women (29 percent) and men (31 percent) reported finding their partner less attractive since their joint vacation. Great.
Is there no good news at all? Well, a little; since the moment we started working from home en masse, there has been less cheating and fewer affairs started, because the office is still the number one place where people find their outside partner. Since corona, that office has been visited a lot less and we are therefore much more monogamous.
It seems to be so bad with that month of September that relationship experts now call it ‘sextember’. Do you want to know in which month you are the safest? November seems to be the most monogamous month, whatever that may mean...
