To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before gets a spin-off

The story of Lara Jean and Peter has unfortunately really come to an end now. Admittedly: a fourth part would be really silly, but any excuse to watch Noah Centineo again I would fully embrace. But well, we do get them back a little bit, because a spin-off is coming: XO, Kitty will be on Netflix on May 18.

And that Kitty is indeed Lara Jean's little sister. So it’s still a question of whether we will see Lana Condor and Noah Centineo (I fear not), but in the worst case, it’s just another delightful romcom to watch. And I’m already very content with that, especially now that I’ve seen the trailer that Netflix dropped last night.

Yes: we see Lara Jean and Peter right away in the trailer, even if it’s just in flashbacks. Furthermore, the story seems to have little to do with them and is really about Kitty, who found her mother’s diaries in the attic. This leads her to discover that her mother attended a boarding school in South Korea, and soon she finds out that this is exactly the same boarding school where her great love Dae is going.

I know: what are the odds? But well, you shouldn’t think about those kinds of things in romcoms. Kitty also enrolls at the school behind her father and stepmother's back, and you’ll never guess, but she gets accepted. XO, Kitty will mainly take place in South Korea, which is a beautiful (and once a different) setting.

So May 18. I always found the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before series to be a bit of a brainless romcom where I still cried every time. I’m also a wet rag. I expect nothing less from this and I’m looking forward to it again.
