When will it be time to take care of love? A long relationship is hard work, usually. That's nothing to be ashamed of, you know. Because these are busy years, with young children, careers, social obligations, and friend groups. Before you know it, another quarter has passed and you haven't planned a single date night with your husband.

What a shame. Because it's so necessary. Before you know it, you're in trouble.

Relationship problems can occur at different ages, but many people experience tensions during certain life stages. Problems often arise in the early years of a marriage or long-term relationship, around the ages of 30-40, it's tough in love. You're busy and tired. And grumpy. And you take it out on each other.

Also around midlife, roughly between the ages of 40 and 50, challenges can arise due to changing priorities or personal growth. You change as a person and may want more. You find it boring. You wonder if there's more to life. And that creates tensions at home. Not surprisingly, many couples break up during these phases. But it's a shame. So plan that date, ask the other how they are doing, show interest. Stay kind to each other. Write that note and give that extra kiss before you go to sleep. The grass is usually not greener on the other side. Stay as long as you can on this safe, warm side.
