This is the best pizza from the supermarket

Italiamo is the site for every Italy lover. Even if you are not heading to Italy, they know how to bring the Italy feeling to you. Because here you will read all about the best pizzas, the undiscovered gems of Italy, as well as the best pizza from the supermarket.

For years, I didn't exactly think highly of pizzas from the frozen section at the supermarket. I'm familiar with the saying that bad pizza is still OK because it's still pizza, and I agree with that in a way, but I do often find those frozen pizzas extremely sad. In any case, you won't make me happy with a Ristorante pizza with pesto and ‘mozzarella’ (I put this in inverted commas, because you can't convince me that this is real mozzarella) or a chicken tikka masala pizza from the Albert Heijn private label (yes, it does exist).

The tastiest frozen pizza
But I made a discovery I can't keep to myself. The frozen pizzas from Crosta & Mollica are in fact really incredibly good, especially the Stromboli. This is a sourdough pizza topped with spicy calabrese and ventricina salami. Really SO good: it actually tastes like a real pizza and I have seriously been served lesser variants in restaurants.

Snackspert is also enthusiastic and I can always really relate to his reviews, I feel that our taste buds appreciate the same things, so I am not surprised that he awards this pizza with five stars.

More Crosta & Mollica
From Crosta & Mollica there is also the Rustica (with mushrooms, pancetta and mascarpone), the Margherita, the Imperia (with prosciutto, pesto and garlic), the Quattro Formaggi and they also have it in smaller sizes (the Mini). I have not tried them all, but I give the Stromboli a big 8.5 and I also really like the mini.
