Justin Timberlake is heavily under fire

I saw this coming, because I predicted this at the end of last year: Justin Timberlake is going to have a very rough year. And it indeed doesn't start off well, as he is heavily under fire and he added fuel to the fire himself last night.
The fact that he is under fire has everything to do with the autobiography of his ex Britney Spears — and everything that has happened around Britney. I find that somewhat positive, because both the media and the general public have started to realize that how she was treated back then was really unacceptable. For instance, she was asked live on TV if she was still a virgin, that she had broken Justin Timberlake's heart and what she had done, that they had to talk about her breasts (that was actually Ivo Niehe), how her sex life is… All questions and answers that concern absolutely no one.
Back then, Justin Timberlake continued with his life while openly discussing their sex life on the radio and on TV. Additionally, he even made a music video (Cry Me A River) with a Britney lookalike and sang that she had betrayed him (by the way, her autobiography stated that he was the one who cheated on Britney), which became a massive hit and Britney received even more hate.
But the tide can turn and it has turned, because Justin is now also facing a lot of hate and criticism. He released a new song called Selfish, and he is currently promoting it. However, when he posted the song on Instagram, he mainly received comments, as about 99 percent of the comments were about Britney. It even went so far that Britney herself wrote on Instagram that she thought the new song was great, in an attempt to calm her fans down.
What her fans want? That Justin Timberlake openly apologizes, takes more responsibility for how he treated Britney, and owns up to it. Not crazy ideas in themselves, but it looks like this won't happen anytime soon.
Last night, Justin performed at Irving Plaza, New York, and before he started Cry Me A River, he said: ‘I’d like to take this opportunity to apologize to absolutely f*cking nobody.’ Well, perhaps not the most convenient thing to say when your head is already on the proverbial chopping block.
This could indeed turn out to be a very tough year for Justin Timberlake.
