16x you absolutely recognize this if you prefer to go to bed at 8:30 PM

I used to hang out in a lamp sometimes. In a pub. In a dirty pub even.
But yes, as life goes, things pass by. They call it phases.
When you're young (early twenties), you think it's forever. I couldn't imagine that my friends and I would ever stop going out at Leidseplein. That we would ever think that the Bubbels and Joop would become boring. Cute. When you're in the middle of that phase, you often think something lasts forever. But it turns out that's often not true. It goes differently. You get older.
And before you know it, you're sitting on the couch yawning at 8:00 PM on a Friday night, wondering if it's acceptable to lie down in bed already. You definitely recognize this if, like me, you prefer to go to sleep at 8:30 PM:
1. It's just really nice, your own bed. Those pillows, that warmth, god, what a pleasure. Just scrolling a bit, mindlessly watching some series. A chocolate on the side, everything in your bed. Nothing is as nice.
2. Going to bed early also means you wake up early and you think that's great. You get something out of your day. Whether or not you have kids, you get up around 6:30 AM.
3. You're just tired. Done.
4. You love day drinking. Nice, a glass of wine with a friend, but preferably around four in the afternoon. Then you can both crawl into bed feeling a bit tipsy.
5. You see going to bed early as self-care.
6. A reservation at a restaurant at 8:00 PM? Sorry. Have you gone mad?
7. You genuinely feel happy with freshly washed sheets. Crisp clean, smelling of Robijn. Divine.
8. You also feel healthy when you go to bed on time. If you go to bed late once, you're hungover, even if you didn't drink. Wrecked. Exhausted. You're not used to anything anymore.
9. You definitely go to bed earlier than your partner.
10. You believe it when people talk about a party. Good luck with that. Have fun. Regards.
11. You definitely don't suffer from FOMO. Home is where you feel the best.
12. You don't find life boring either. You just need your rest. You do everything you want to do during the day.
13. You love ginger tea. Sorry. Bourgeois, but true. We call that self-care nowadays, right?
14. When your friends text you, you only reply in the morning. Well, maybe at 6:00 AM, but after eight you don't check your phone anymore.
15. You almost dread it when you have a dinner invitation late. You can genuinely be thrown off all day by that.
16. You sometimes wake up at 12:15 AM. Then you've already gone through a sleep cycle.
