Forget Barcelona, this unknown Spanish village is the hit

This is also known as the Saint Tropez of Spain

Of course, Barcelona (these are my 5 intensely fun tips) is fun. The city has everything: a vibrant center and a beach. But Spain is more than Barcelona and Madrid, and this little town should be at the top of your travel bucket list.

Cadaqués in Catalonia is where you need to be. I mean: if it was good enough for Salvador Dalí, Picasso, Henri Matisse, and Keith Richards, it can surely charm us too. It's a bit of a drive, but that might scare off hordes of other tourists, which makes it charming as well. From Girona airport, it's about an hour and a half drive to this cozy coastal town.

What can you do there?
Well, you can visit the houses of Picasso and Dalí, which is already fun. Furthermore, there are all sorts of nice shops in the village where you can buy clothes and art. You can eat at Casa Nun, which is located on the corner of a nice square and is perfect for people-watching.

If you are traveling without children (that's how you survive a trip with a toddler), you could stay at Hotel Horta d’en Rahola, which is an 18th-century farmhouse with a swimming pool. Another option is Hotel Llane Petit, where almost every balcony of the 37 rooms has a sea view.

So I want to go right now, do you too?
