Coldplay plays with seriously ill actor

So, so, so sweet

If you weren't already a sick fan of Chris Martin, then you should Carpool Karaoke watch him and then of course read this article further. I thought the concert in the ArenA last year was so amazing that I hope I can somehow squeeze my foot in the door this year to get a ticket. This weekend they played at Glastonbury Festival (think of it as the Coachella of England) and they once again provided a moment of emotion.

During the song ‘Fix You’, Michael J. Fox came on stage. Michael J. Fox, who was incredibly famous for his role in Family Ties and of course Back to the Future. Since 1998 we have known that Michael J. Fox has Parkinson's disease. He shared that eight years after he received the diagnosis himself. He wrote books about it and tried not to let it change his life too much. He continued to play guitar, something he was particularly good at. He had already played with Steve Cropper and G.E. Smith.

This weekend a dream came true. He played along with his heroes from Coldplay. “It was f*cking mind-blowing. There is a time for every band and a band for every time.”

What I found the most beautiful? How Chris Martin introduced him in a song. Without pity, with a straight back and a big smile. And then playing ‘Fix You’ together. Just in case you don't know the lyrics by heart: read them, because it will help you in times when the light of your life is temporarily out.

When you try your best, but you don’t succeed
When you get what you want, but not what you need
When you feel so tired, but you can’t sleep
Stuck in reverse

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can’t replace
When you love someone, but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

And high up above, or down below
When you’re too in love to let it go
But if you never try, you’ll never know
Just what you’re worth
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

Tears stream down your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face, and I
Tears stream down your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down your face, and I
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
