Adele in tears during last Carpool Karaoke

This is the very last week of The Late Late Show with James Corden; after nine seasons, the curtain falls for the evening show. I must confess that I have never really been a fan of his talk show (and the rumors that he is an unpleasant person in real life didn't help either), but to be fair: Carpool Karaoke is just brilliantly conceived by him. In all those nine seasons, a huge number of stars have come by. My personal favorites: One Direction, Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, Billie Eilish, and of course Adele. The latter is also good friends with James Corden in real life, and that's why she surprised him one last time with Carpool Karaoke, but this time she picked him up to go to work.

And that twenty-minute Carpool Karaoke has truly become something special again. Adele's beautiful voice never gets boring, but I found their conversations together at least just as special. Probably because they are such good friends: it really felt like an intimate glimpse into their personalities. They talk about their joint vacations, their deep conversations, and about which song she has written for him.

Spoiler alert: there are definitely tears (for me as well, I can't stand it when other people cry, even if it's on my screen), for example when Adele sings the aforementioned song for him. That song is I Drink Wine, and I had no idea that this was inspired by certain conversations with James Corden. So grab the tissues, because there's a good chance you won't stay dry.
