Donald Trump is now officially a TikTok influencer

We now know that he is special. This weekend he was already found guilty of paying hush money to porn actress Stormy Daniels. He did this in 2016 to keep their affair out of the spotlight so that it would not affect his chances of becoming president of America. As if this news was not remarkable enough, he has pulled another stunt.

He has created a TikTok account. This is not only remarkable because it is a man of age from whom I do not necessarily expect to do fun dances or come up with funny videos, it is especially noteworthy because in 2020, when he was president, he tried to ban TikTok. He called the social platform ‘a threat to national security’ because he claimed TikTok was selling data of Americans to other countries, like China.

Biden was already actively campaigning on TikTok, so perhaps it also played a role that Trump did not want to fall behind his major rival for the upcoming American elections. He has now posted one video, but unfortunately, it is not a fun dance. Quite the opposite actually, as we see him arriving at an Ultimate Fighting Championship, a super intense type of martial arts. In terms of followers, it is going well: in one day he has reached 3.5 million followers and his first video has been viewed nearly 61 million times.
