This is the trick to pry someone's secrets loose

Would you ever want to see the back of someone's tongue? Figuratively speaking, of course, and that's often harder than taking it literally. But there is one trick that psychologists swear by, and I must honestly admit that I've tried it myself a few times. With success. This is such a simple trick, but perfect if you want someone to keep talking (I've also used it in awkward situations) or if you want someone to perhaps share a bit more than he/she actually would.
As I said, it's incredibly easy: just repeat a sentence that the other person just said, and phrase it as a question. Let me sketch a little situation where you can apply this, for example.
Imagine your fling has been out, he/she tells very little about it, and you don't fully trust it.
Fling: ‘Yeah, so I went out yesterday.’
You: ‘You went out yesterday?’
F: ‘Yeah, we went to club X and then to club Y.’
J: ‘Ohh, to club X and then to club Y?’
F: ‘Yeah, …’
And you'll notice that every time you return the question, that person gives more details about the topic. Pay attention too, if someone does this to you, because there's a good chance that person wants you to spill the beans.
It can also be perfectly fine that person wants to fill an awkward silence, because I've used this trick very often for that. It works so well: the other person keeps talking and you also get to know a lot about that person.
