7 small things that make introverted people very happy

We all have an extrovert in us, and an introvert. That is precisely the beauty of people: we are usually social and enjoy being with others, but sometimes it is also wonderful to be alone. Introversion is not the same as being shy. Introverted people can be socially skilled and enjoy social contact, but they often need time to retreat and recharge after social interaction.

And if you are somewhat introverted by nature, you will undoubtedly recognize yourself in these points.

1. You prefer one-on-one with someone
Being introverted means that you tend to be more inwardly focused, that you recharge by spending time alone, and that you often prefer one-on-one contact with people instead of gathering in large groups. So go ahead and plan that date with a trusted friend; you won't be happy at big parties and gatherings.

2. You get happy from a deep conversation
Introverts tend to think carefully before they speak. They often prefer deeper conversations over superficial chit-chat. So you get very happy from a profound conversation instead of nonsensically chatting about the weather and work. And after a deep conversation about the ups and downs of life, you are also fulfilled in your social needs; you can easily spend days without conversations afterward.

3. You love it when someone cancels
Secretly, you plan even more social things than you would like: you secretly love it when someone cancels. Even if it's last minute: you happily crawl onto the couch. Under your blanket, in your own safe bubble. Your happy place.

4. You don't want to do something two nights in a row
And so you get very happy when your schedule allows that you don't have ‘something’ every night of the week in a row. Even appointments with friends cost you energy in a certain way. You think it's great if you also have enough evenings at home during the week.

5. You work from home
Maybe working from home full-time isn't the coziest, but you are in your element if you can spend at least half of your working hours at home. You know: alone. You and your cat on your lap, a cup of tea; no one can bother you. Introverted people are often independent and can work well independently. They don't always need social validation, as you get more in an office.

6. You value a few good friends more than a whole bunch
Quality over quantity: better to have a few people who are very close to you than a large group of friends. Prefer a nice partner and one best friend with whom you share everything than a thousand people who demand your attention daily.

7. Your relationship is stable and forever
Nothing makes you as happy as that love that lasts forever. No wild bachelor years for you: thanks, but no thanks. Prefer stability and familiarity in your bedroom.
