Wow Joost, boy

I just wanted to write something about the fact that you should never take me seriously when it comes to my opinion about the Eurovision candidates. I was just as happy with your nomination as I was with Duncan Laurence's and the song Calm After the Storm. Not. But just like with the other two, I was wrong and changed my mind faster than a leaf on a tree. That was the case with you too. On Thursday, I was dancing on my chair when you finally came, and all Friday I mimicked your happy wave and we played your song. I even defended you against a grumbling boomer at the greengrocer. That you were making music history, those kinds of things. I can always get a bit carried away in my fandom.
And then all those messages came. That you wouldn't participate in the jury show yesterday, that there was a police investigation, that you might be disqualified. There were live broadcasts with Aran Bade in the news, on Boulevard, Renze, and even on VI. You were world news. You would be angry with the organization of the Eurovision, the EBU. You had unfollowed them and of course, we all saw you sitting with the Dutch flag on your head during the press conference. It didn't give a cozy impression. And now there was the verdict: you are disqualified. Goodbye dream, goodbye amazing song, goodbye act with winning potential. Goodbye evening that we all looked forward to so much.
You will surely tell us again why. But not right now.
