‘Once I earned my money as a ‘sex worker’,’, as it is so nicely called these days. In my time, I just played ‘the whore’ and believe me: if I had had another choice, this would never have been my life. It is sometimes humiliating, unsafe, and unappetizing. Guys who come in and refuse to wash their privates, guys who want to do things with you that make you nauseous or that are painful. And a pimp who thinks you shouldn’t be so fussy and who sells you a smack to your head if you protest – always with the flat hand to prevent bruises, they were that hypocritical too.

I had heard about it before, about a website where the girls are not really cheering for sex workers. Just imagine the stupidity: a website where those damned guys can hang a story about you, complete with name and surname. About what makes you a ‘hot chick’ and how good you are. About ‘that you’re just playing’ that you still enjoy it a bit or that you’re ‘really a horny chick’. And that you supposedly are up for filthy rotten games that in reality you would never go for.

It pained me in hindsight to read that there is even a section called ‘Where is this lady?’. Here, clients can help each other find sex workers they can no longer locate. Not only the last location is revealed, but sometimes also the new working name of such a girl. And that while those women often had a damned good reason to go underground or to start using another name. You don’t want to think about the misery those girls can end up in. And if a complaint is filed with that website, nothing is done about it.

Dozens of girls have now complained. It seems that these practices are in violation of privacy laws, and that is only logical. If I send you an email without your consent, I am supposedly in violation. It would be something if every farmer could spill the beans about these women or even lie. We are still talking about people here. And if those girls could choose, they would probably prefer to do something else with their lives than to lie on their backs for every scoundrel that comes along.’
