7x where you want to eat in Amsterdam
The favorite new restaurants of the editorial team

Do you know that feeling? You have a free evening and want to eat well, and suddenly you have a total restaurant blackout. And while Amsterdam, which is where we kind of circle around, is really exploding with crazy, funky, and cool restaurants. These are our editorial favorites.
Restaurant Trees
Trees is by Géza Weisz, the director and actor who also blew us away with his Gertrude. Trees is located in the Red Light District, so you immediately have a “cultural” outing. You can eat downstairs at the bar, or something more extensive up to 6 courses on the top floor. It's all lovely, even the website. And they have wine pairing. I get to join on Tuesday, so I'll let you know.

Restaurant Gitane
Recently, I attended an event organized by the PR princesses of Skins Cosmetics and seriously, if they ever need to look for another job for any inexplicable reason — because Skins is heaven — they should start a restaurant blog. Kim and Claire can truly fish out a gem from every corner. Recently, we ate at Gitane on Jan Pieter Heijestraat. They are open every day for brunch, lunch, wine, and, my favorite, nibbles. And oh yes, they have Ruinart champagne.

Restaurant Bisous
Daniëlle's favorite. It's dining and nightlife in one. Daan thinks the food was good, but he can't remember it because the nightlife was so much fun. You know what I mean. From around 10:00 PM, a DJ comes in and the wines are replaced by cocktails. Make sure to have a full battery because you'll want to take a lot of photos.

La Fiorita
Our Isabel naturally has Sicilian blood flowing through her venous system, so you have to go to her for a good Italian. Her favorite? La Fiorita. Modern Italian with a menu that changes weekly and adapts to the available ingredients and the seasons. I love that.

Showw
If you want to eat here, you need to reserve well in advance, I'm afraid, because since Monday they have earned a Michelin star. But it will be worth the wait.
The founders have names that sound like characters from a novel: Dorus Floris and Lendl Mijnhijmer, with Lendl also receiving the Michelin Award for sommelier. A typical case of cheers then.

I'm going to tell you something that will make you want to go here immediately. Sarah Jessica Parker eats here too. At least, she has eaten here once and thought it was very nice.
They also earned a Michelin star last year and managed to keep it. And they are located on Utrechtsestraat, and if I ever get to live somewhere, it would be there.

Then we have the favorites of Lotte and Sophie (our valued colleague from Italiamo.nl who also has a healthy interest in food) and those are:
De Klepel
A tiny place where wine is the starting point and the food is conceived. So here they start with the drinks and then the rest comes, instead of the other way around.

Café Enté
Everything is homemade, comfort food, you can go there all day and make it as crazy as you want. Extensive wine list with super reasonable prices. And their slogan, nouveau kroeg, was thought up by our Sophie.
