Hit on TikTok: this salad cures hormonal acne in one go

Hormonal acne: if you have it, you know how frustrating it can be. You can apply whatever you want, but if your hormones are not balanced on the inside, it remains an eternal mystery. But what if I told you that the solution is not in a jar or pill bottle, but rather what’s on your plate? Enter: the dense bean salad. For those who like to spend their free time on TikTok, you may have come across it before. This salad is a miracle cure for hormonal acne, and — spoiler alert — the health benefits don’t stop there.
Hormonal acne is, as the name suggests, linked to fluctuating hormones. Unfortunately, no cream can compete with this; the solution lies largely in what you eat. And that’s where the beans come in, your new favorite vegetable. Think of chickpeas, lentils, black beans, you name it. Not only are they packed with fiber and plant-based proteins, but they are also full of zinc and magnesium. These nutrients are game changers when it comes to your hormone balance.
Zinc, for example, has anti-inflammatory properties and helps regulate sebum production (hello, less oily skin). Magnesium helps keep your stress levels in check, which leads to fewer breakouts. By incorporating beans into your daily diet, you support your hormones from the inside out, and you can see that reflected in smoother skin.
But it’s not just your skin that benefits. Beans are full of fiber that is essential for healthy digestion. That fiber contributes to a less bloated belly and provides more energy throughout the day. Oh, and don’t forget all the antioxidants in beans. They protect the skin from free radicals, which can cause wrinkles and a dull complexion.

Do you ever feel like you’re craving something sweet all day long? That’s due to your blood sugar levels going up and down. Beans are rich in slow carbohydrates, which means they keep your blood sugar levels stable. No more sudden urges to eat that bag of ginger nuts and — more importantly — no sugar crashes.
Now you probably want to know how to make such a dense bean salad. Very simple: mix your favorite beans with vegetables like bell pepper, tomato, and cucumber. Throw in some fresh herbs, a splash of olive oil, a squeeze of lemon, and you’re good to go. You can also add feta or avocado for extra flavor.
