Shannen Doherty is preparing for her death

“I want to make it easy for my mother”

By
Shannen Doherty

Shannen Doherty, the star of Beverly Hills 90210, was a staple in my high school years. Brenda and Brandon and their friend group were a kind of archetype for my own posse. That Shannen, the actress who played Brenda, was diagnosed with cancer nine years ago, felt like the harsh reality that spares no one. Our friend group has also been affected by life. One has divorced, another lost her parents, and one of us even passed away. Because of that connection to my youth, Shannen always feels closer than any other Hollywood actress.

The message in which she prepared for her death that I saw this morning, I immediately shared in our app group. Not that she will die very soon, but she is preparing for her death.

“The most important thing is my mother, Rosa. It will already be so difficult for her when I am no longer there, that I try to solve all the less pleasant tasks for her.” So this is how Shannen is already cleaning out her house, selling some furniture, and even wants to sell her estate in Tennessee. That was more than just selling a property and a piece of land; it was also a dream that was given up. She hoped to one day start a horse rescue for old horses or animals abandoned by their owners there with her mother. One day will no longer come in Shannen's life, she knows that now that the cancer has spread to her brain and bones. But that ‘one day’ can change into ‘now’, that is an insight that Shannen shares with us in her podcast Let's Be Clear. She will have more money if she sells the property, allowing her to help people and horses at this moment. She will also be able to travel with her mother and create memories. And she has immediately wiped some tasks off her mother's list. A case of win-win-win. And thank you Shannen, for sharing your life lessons.
