Sour candy could help against panic attacks and this is why

By

If you've ever had the displeasure of experiencing a panic attack, you know how frightening that can be. Unfortunately, I've been dealing with it regularly for about a year now, and I haven't been able to find a really good solution yet. But I won't give up on my search, and now I've found something that is very simple and therefore ideal if it really works.

According to doctors, that is certainly the case. What is this miracle cure? Sour candy. Yes, that may sound very strange, but the explanation for it is actually quite logical. Doctors say: ‘The act of eating something incredibly sour distracts attention from the panic attack, and then getting your taste buds to work with this taste sensation also interrupts the cycle of the panic attack.’

It does sound quite logical, because I've heard before that a good trick against panic attacks is to distract yourself. The only difficult part is that my mind is way too busy and too full during such a panic attack that I always forget these kinds of tricks. How do I distract myself again? Which body part was I supposed to squeeze or tense to reduce the panic?

Eating sour candies, on the other hand, is much easier; you can just take them with you in your bag when you go somewhere and keep them at home. Eating sour candy is a trick I won't forget quickly; also because it's just one action that apparently works immediately.

Unfortunately, it is not a remedy to make your panic attacks disappear; that would be very ideal, to just eat away your panic attacks. It could definitely help you when you have a panic attack or feel one coming, so if you also suffer from this: definitely stop by Jamin to grab a bag full. It certainly can't hurt.
