Suddenly a wrinkled décolletage?
There is something to be done about that

When we think about skin aging, we often focus on our face. I often stop applying cream at the jawline. Very silly, of course, because your décolletage catches quite a bit of sunlight in the summer. Moreover, the skin there is very thin, which leads to signs of aging appearing quickly.
Skin aging on your décolletage can be caused by various factors, including:
1. Sun damage: UV rays from the sun or tanning bed break down the collagen and elastin fibers in the skin. This results in wrinkles, pigmentation spots, and sagging skin.
2. Age: As we get older, our body produces less collagen, leading to thinner skin and reduced healing ability.
3. Sleeping position: Sleeping on your side (this says your sleeping position by the way, says something about you) can cause fine lines and wrinkles on the chest as the skin is compressed for extended periods.
I am always so happy when there is also a solution for a problem. And there is, and it's called: the laser.
Laser therapy is an effective way to treat the signs of skin aging on your décolletage. There are different types of lasers that can be used, depending on your specific skin issues:
Fractional laser treatment, such as the Youlaser MT. This is the best option for treating fine lines, wrinkles, and pigmentation spots. This combination of lasers stimulates the production of new collagen in the skin. The fractional CO2 laser vaporizes small areas of the skin at the surface in a controlled manner, while the non-ablative laser penetrates deeper into the skin. This accelerates the skin's natural healing process, resulting in smoother, firmer, and younger-looking skin.
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) can improve skin evenness and effectively address pigmentation spots, small blood vessels, and general redness.
Peeling treatments for a younger décolletage
In addition to laser treatments, peels can also be a great option to improve the skin on your décolletage. In a peel, a liquid with a certain acid is applied to the skin that essentially dissolves the top layer of skin with dead skin cells, revealing smoother and fresher skin.
As you probably know, I go to Annelijn van Ierland a few times a year to laser my face (and neck), but now I am going to add the décolletage.
