Adele's hotel? €30,000 per night
And more oh wow facts about her tour

I am in Munich, where it is going to happen tonight. The second-to-last concert of Adele is taking place and something in me forced us this way.
I have cried a hundred times watching her sing Someone Like You at the Royal Albert Hall, where Adele eventually has to cry. If I had a bucket list, seeing Adele perform live would definitely be solidly in the top 5.
So when she “suddenly” – she had indicated that she actually never wanted to tour again because she doesn't really like it – announced that she would be giving a number of concerts in Munich, I was sold. Well, not at first. I was dangling at the bottom of a queue of 437 people and the tickets that were left cost at least €750 each. No matter how much I love Adele, that was too far for me. But more concerts were added and, very strange how that works with your brain, I would have dropped out at tickets of €300, but because I came from that €750 perception, I suddenly found that quite reasonable. Pay, be a bit frugal, and not think too much about it. Here I am now and I used the whole ride – to save a bit where possible we are sleeping basic and went by car – to gather some nice facts.
Let's start with her apartment.
– Adele sleeps in a penthouse of 30,000 euros per night
So she doesn't like touring because she enjoys being at home. She says she enjoys ‘little things’. Making a cup of tea, that kind of work. So a homely atmosphere is important to her. That's why she eventually caved to perform again because she is now staying in one place. The whole month of July and August she is here in Munich with her son. They live in a penthouse of 450 square meters (that's three times my house) in a luxury hotel and pays there, according to the Wikipedia page with Adele Munich facts, 30,000 euros per night.
– Adele is left with at least 100 million here
You want to know, what does she earn from this? Well, the venue can accommodate 80,000 people per night. Let's take a rough average of 200 euros per ticket. Just from ticket sales, you come to 16 million per night. That's not even counting all the merchandise, everything that is sold at Adele World, all the drinks, etc. But let's keep it safe. Of course, Adele incurs costs for the show. She has a, albeit small, but still, band, backing vocalists, and especially a lot of special effects and of course the stadium itself that was specially built for her. Billboard reported that the total production costs came to 100 million. So Adele keeps 60 million. Then she indeed never has to perform again after this. Unless she wants to continue living in that expensive hotel for the rest of her life, at least.
– The venue is specially built for her
And is thus the largest ‘pop-up venue’ ever with the largest LED screen ever, 220 meters wide and 30 meters high. The location is equivalent to 60 football fields, it is gigantic, we drove by it yesterday. Despite the size, an attempt was made, and I think it succeeded, to maintain Adele's intimate atmosphere. It is of course really the opposite of her intimate Las Vegas concerts. “It's a bit bloody exciting” wrote Adele on her Instagram before it kicked off and she does have ‘a bit’ of a point.
– She plays 22 songs and that is immediately the longest playlist ever of Adele during a live performance
– And then there is the Adele World
With an I Drink Wine bar, a Ferris Wheel, a beer garden and they also built the pub Good Ship, where Adele had her first performances. Oh, imagine you happened to sit at the bar there... Adele's favorite drink is also served there and that seems to be an Aperol Spritz. I wouldn't spit that out either. There is also the phone booth from the Hello clip (I once wrote a slightly less flattering piece about it, I found that clip a bit too theatrical), but further only praise and confetti for Adele.
I can't wait and will tell you everything.
