The kitchen tidying tip that makes you happy

And you did it just like that

By

Tidying up is a form of therapy for me. Bringing order to chaos and creating a loving environment for the people around you is, at least for me, purifying. Sometimes I really have a need to iron. So you can actually become happier from ironing. And now don’t all text me asking if I want to come iron for you, because my own mountains of clean laundry are really enough. However, you should tidy up in moderation, otherwise you’ll go crazy. So drawer by drawer, cupboard by cupboard, and room by room.

Today: the kitchen.

Because you are there at least three times a day. You start your day there and you end it there, so having everything a bit in order makes you happy. Here are some small tips:

– Take things out of packaging and organize them
So crackers that are bundled in different packages should be taken out of the big pack and neatly placed in a bowl. Not only does it look nicer, but you can also always see exactly what is still in stock. Do this with your coffee pods and tea bags so that it looks organized. Really, it works.

– Lay your forks and spoons spoon-to-spoon
A cutlery drawer can be a magnet for mess. You throw in matches, a ballpoint pen, leftover sushi sticks, and so on. My tip: please remove what doesn’t belong in the kitchen, clean the drawer regularly, and lay the spoons and forks neatly on their sides in each other’s ‘little holes’. It looks so wonderfully organized when you open the drawer.

– Turn
Put the logos facing forward, organize from large to small, and throw away everything where you only have one. So that one little shot glass whose family has all perished also goes away. Or if you only have one plate left somewhere: throw it away.

– The tip that makes you happy
Well, here it is, the tip that lured you into this story. Put your dishwasher tablets in a nice jar. You will feel cheerful every time you look for your dishwasher tablet. I always rummage in such a bag and then, always after a dinner with a really overflowing dishwasher, realize that the tablets are gone. Now they are in a nice container, which immediately gives me an incredibly oh-how-organized-I-am feeling and makes me feel on top of things when it threatens to run out.
