Were you also a fan of The Salt Path
Everything about the Netflix movie of the bestseller book

If you The Salt Path you have read, you are silenced and touched. By the lines that feel like poetry and especially by the story of Raynor and Matt, who hear from one day to the next that Matt has a rare form of cancer. As if that wasn't enough, they lose almost everything by trusting the wrong friend and have only a few hundred pounds to spend. What do you do then? In the case of Raynor and Matt: walk. Just because there seems to be no other option. Their last pennies go to a light tent, a sleeping bag that also provides warmth below freezing, and sturdy hiking boots. And then they go. Step by step. There is no goal, but there is a route: the South West Coast Path, a walking route along the English coast of 1010 kilometers.
I wouldn't call The Salt Path a fairy tale, but the story takes a wonderful turn when it turns out that all that walking greatly improves Matt's health. Moreover, the book has financially brought Raynor back on her feet. In the meantime, she has sold hundreds of thousands of books. (The Salt Path had two sequels: The Wild Silence and Landlines.) With this success, she may slowly be walking towards millionaire status.
The Salt Path is one of those books that, once you've read it and meet other readers, immediately creates a bond. The story feels universal and personal at the same time.
And now there is a film for all Salt Path devotees and new fans, which will be released soon on Netflix. Raynor is played by Gillian Anderson (I saw the trailer and thought she was fantastic), and Matt by Jason Isaacs. Raynor and Matt (I already feel so involved, as if I know them personally) have been closely involved in the process to ensure that the film stays true to reality.
The film premiered in September at the Toronto Film Festival and is expected to be on Netflix in the spring of 2025.
