These 7 jobs actually seem very chic, but they pay particularly poorly

It's a shame, though, if you study hard for what seems like a fancy job. And once you have it, the salary is quite disappointing.

Although some jobs may look very chic and attractive from the outside, they often pay surprisingly poorly. This is usually because they are in sectors where the supply of workers is large, the sector is underpaid, or because the image of the job obscures the actual conditions. Here are some examples of such jobs:

1. Fashion designer
Fashion designers seem glamorous and are often in the spotlight during fashion shows and events. But for those working at smaller or emerging brands, the reality is often very different. These designers often work long hours, are underpaid, and have to fight for recognition in a highly competitive industry. The salary is often far below what you would expect for such a creative and demanding job.

2. Journalist
Working as a journalist for a trendy magazine or media platform seems like a dream job. The chance to interview celebrities, attend events, and write influential articles seems appealing. In reality, journalists in this sector are often poorly paid, have to work with tight deadlines, and have little job security. Freelance positions, which are common in this sector, can pay particularly poorly.

3. Curator or art gallery staff
Working in the art world, for example as a curator or in an art gallery, often seems chic and refined. You deal with beautiful artworks, organize prestigious exhibitions, and meet famous artists. However, many of these jobs, especially at smaller galleries and museums, are poorly paid. Moreover, the opportunities for advancement are often limited.

4. Assistant to a celebrity
Personal assistants to celebrities or influential businesspeople have a job that seems chic, with the opportunity to work near celebrities, attend exclusive events, and participate in exciting projects. But this job is often stressful, with long irregular hours, and the reward often does not match the workload.

5. Stylist in the fashion or entertainment industry
Stylists, especially those working with celebrities or for fashion shows, seem to have a glamorous job. They are responsible for creating the looks that appear on the red carpet and in magazines. But unless they are at the top of their field, many stylists are poorly paid, have little job security, and often have to work under high pressure.

6. Event planner
Event planners for luxury weddings, large corporations, and high-end parties have a job that looks very chic from the outside. They deal with stylish venues, famous guests, and prestigious events. The reality, however, is that the hours are long, the workload is high, and the reward often does not match the work they do.

7. Flight attendant
Cabin crew at a luxury airline work in a stylish and often glamorous environment. They travel the world and deal with an exclusive clientele. But the salary of most cabin crew members is often disappointing, especially when considering the long hours, time away from home, and the demanding nature of the work.
