Three hotel tips for a cozy Christmas weekend in London

By

There are a few things I'm looking forward to as soon as we reach mid-September, when it starts to get a bit colder outside and you suddenly want to drink tea all day because your hands freeze when you sit behind the laptop for too long. Maybe it's a kind of coping mechanism, that I focus on the little joys that winter brings, instead of hiding in a corner and waiting for the first rays of sunshine. Because we know that can take a long time in the Netherlands. Those little things I think about are probably very recognizable to other Christmas lovers: looking for the cutest and most beautiful gifts for everyone you love, an advent calendar full of beauty goodies so that I can give myself a little gift every day in December, the scent of the Christmas tree in the living room, and everywhere those beautiful lights. On the canals in Amsterdam, it is of course fantastic, especially if you're lucky enough to sail past all the artworks of the light festival on a boat. But it remains incredibly tempting to travel to that one city that really knows how to do Christmas well: London.

You simply owe it to yourself to book a weekend in London

By the way, it's not bad for your family and friends either, because everyone who doesn't travel with you can expect the most beautiful gifts that you have carefully selected for them at Harrods and other beautiful shops. Since it's so nice to also sleep in a cozy Christmas hotel, I've picked out a few of the coziest hotels for you, in the coziest neighborhoods of London.

The Half Moon Hotel
It might sound a bit scary, but that's unwarranted. This is a hotel that almost immediately feels like a home. The rooms differ in looks a bit, so you might want to ask for a specific color or atmosphere of the room when you make your reservation. As soon as you step outside, you're immediately in a cozy, truly London neighborhood with shops and cafes. This hotel is also super close to all the touristy things you definitely want to do.

The Laslett
If you want to feel like Julia Roberts waiting for Hugh Grant to finally tell her he loves her, then it's a pretty good idea to stay a few nights at The Laslett. This hotel is literally IN the Notting Hill neighborhood, so it's within walking distance of all the film locations. A must for true fans of the movie, but even if you're not that fond of the film, you'll have a great time here. I mean, hello, Christmas decorations on point!

Lime Tree Hotel
Save the best for last. This is the little hotel I booked for my three nights in London. Mini rooms, there's no elevator, but just look. If you're, like me, obsessed with coziness, you should definitely book the cozy rooms. These are on the first floor, which is nice if you have to drag your suitcases up. As soon as you step out the door, you're right among the trendiest restaurants and bars in London. This hotel is also located in a beautiful street full of real London houses. You just feel like a little London princess, on your way to Buckingham Palace (because that's also within walking distance).
