Going to Paris in May? Ultimate tips for restaurants in Paris

Message from my neighbor: whether I knew any nice restaurants and tips in Paris. Well, just press play darling, and it rolls out. I have been to Paris so many times in my life and have had the pleasure of tasting that I could visit the finest establishments, so yes, you really have to come to me if you want nice tips. So here come my favorite restaurants with a little sidenote on why they are so nice.
My favorite restaurants in Paris
L’Avenue, 41 Avenue Montaigne, Paris
If a restaurant is located diagonally across from the Dior headquarters, you can assume that the necessary VIPs are having a bite here. Because trying on clothes makes a person hungry. I have seen many famous people there, but apart from that, it is also a lovely spot, nice menu (the same as Costes and La Société) and a terrace with a view of the entire avenue. Be sure to order the Petits Nems, my favorite, and a glass of La Doucette, which is also Princess Beatrix's favorite wine and she knows her stuff. Speaking of Dior, have you read about the €30 Dior ring that is going viral on TikTok?

Costes, 7 Rue de Castiglione, Paris
Now that we are talking about it: Costes is also one of my favorite places. Preferably on the courtyard, although there is a risk that you will get smoked out, because the French love cigarettes and it is allowed on the courtyard, and no one complains. I wrote earlier about how to become a Parisienne in 7 steps, definitely read that before you enter Costes, it will help you secure the best spot. Sitting inside on such a lovely red plush bench is also divine. Preferably arrive around half past two for a late lunch and never leave again. Don't forget to sniff the scented candles (I love scented candles so much, Diptyque now has them in the scent of your favorite city) from the hotel. I always buy one to take the memory home. I used to buy a CD there too, but those aren't really useful anymore.

Café Antonia, 112 Rue du Faubourg, Paris
Hotel Le Bristol has four Michelin stars under one roof. Café Antonia, I believe, has none, but is still the perfect place for a Parisian rendezvous. Here you will find ladies with Birkins (did you know that the Birkin day almost destroyed someone's career?). Here you can casually drink a glass of wine for €45,-. Per glass. But here you also feel like the most important person on earth for a moment. In the inner garden, you can also just have a drink and take your time. It can happen that you see Ryan Gosling walking by (that happened to me. Well, he was on the phone. I was fine with that). What is also incredibly divine is the millefeuille. Get it.

Brasserie Floderer, 7 Cr des Petites Écuries, Paris
Want something more affordable than the above? Then go to Brasserie Floderer, or Brasserie Flo. You understand that I had to go there — as the mother of a Flo — and I have been there at least seven times this summer. You sit on a lovely car-free street, the service is top-notch, the interior is wonderfully French, the menu is clear and good. Be sure to order the Saint Germain Spritz instead of the Aperol, then the waiter will do a little dance of joy.

Coco, Palais Garnier, 1 Place Jacques Rouché, Paris
Eating at Coco is a bit like going out. I went there last year with my daughters (these are fun things to do with kids in Paris) so we sat down around 7:15 PM. I expected we would be the only ones, but it quickly filled up with people who were really looking forward to it. Cocktails in the most beautiful glasses.

Le Marly, 93 Rue de Rivoli, Paris
View of the pyramid of the Louvre and a lovely grand café. I especially enjoy being on the balcony. It is very large, so don't expect a cozy bistro, but it is ideal as a meeting place or a spot to recharge.

Ralph’s Restaurant, Boulevard Saint-Germain, Paris
In the small courtyard of the Ralph Lauren boutique sits this lovely little restaurant. Small, intimate, easy, naturally American, but sometimes you just crave that. And you get a stool for your bag.

Angelina, 226 Rue de Rivoli, Paris
As if you are walking into the Belle Époque, that is Angelina. Chic Paris eats its pastries here and you can join for cake and tea. I wrote a children's book about two cats living in Paris and Angelina also appears in my book.

Café Charbon, Rue Oberkampf, Paris
If you are out of money because you followed too many of my tips, I would suggest eating at Café Charbon. Humberto Tan recorded his show there this year and I was often found there (my husband made that show, hence). It is a nice, French ‘throw-in’ with the tastiest smash burger and delicious fries.

If you go: I am intensely jealous!
