Videoland packs a punch
A crime series from the director of Ozark featuring “our” Martijn Lakemeier

While we promise ourselves to go through the car wash called the gym at least four times a week next year and really live alcohol-free for once, they have very different resolutions at Videoland. They are coming back in 2025 with a whole bunch of originals and starting strong right away in January with the crime thriller ‘Safe Harbor’. An exciting series in which young hackers get caught up in the world of international drug trafficking. And the cast alone bodes well.
Wrong ambitions
Tobias (Alfie Allen) and Marco (Martijn Lakemeier) are young hackers with only one goal: to become very rich. They want to break into the homes of tech billionaires, but end up on the radar of the Irish mafia as a result. The Walsh family is notorious in the drug world and now want to expand their empire in the Netherlands. Sloane (Charlie Murphy) and Farrell Walsh (Jack Gleeson) are sent to Rotterdam by their father to make this happen. They use Tobias and Marco's talents to bypass port security and smuggle their drugs in. It seems like a one-off job, but soon the hackers find themselves wall-to-wall in world of drug trafficking. They must not only escape the Irish criminals, but also stay out of the hands of the police.

An international cast
The storyline already sounds promising, but with the cast and crew does Videoland added to it. The screenplay and direction are in the hands of US director Mark Williams, who previously made the Netflix drama series ‘Ozark’. He could count on a cast of both Dutch and international actors. Starring Martijn Lakemeier (Máxima) and Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones). Their characters take on those of Charlie Murphy (Peaky Blinders) and Jack Gleeson (Game of Thrones). Also starring in the series are Gaite Jansen, Monic Hendrickx, Jim Deddes, Charlie Chan Dagelet, Shahine El-Hamus and Colm Meaney. Still, a list we can say "you're welcome" to. It promises something.
The eight-part series ‘Safe Harbor’ will be available on Videoland from 10 January.
