My favorite addiction
As it goes with addictions, it comes to you. At some point, you come into contact with it, sniff it cautiously, and then you can't live without it anymore. So it is with this one. My friend L has five dogs, but smells as if she just hopped through a human car wash. A freshness that I couldn't trace back to a perfume. It went deeper than that, and every time she moved, a hint of this scent danced through the air. I had to know what it was, and as friends do, she shared her secret. Because never and never would anyone be able to smell that she had dogs; that was too far for her. At Wasparfum.nl she ordered some sample bottles to see which laundry perfume she liked best. “A few drops per wash is enough, but I secretly add a splash,” she told me confidentially.
A laundry lover
As the granddaughter of a grandfather with a laundry, I am afflicted with the laundry virus. I love full laundry baskets and enjoy neatly pressed stacks. When they also smell wonderfully, it breathes love and dedication. When I fold the laundry, there is love in it. So since L's confession, I have also become a loyal customer of Wasparfum.nl which, how could it be otherwise, sells all kinds of Italian laundry perfumes. When I visit the site, my brain already dances to the streets of Ostuni where the laundry always adorns the balconies. Here, the laundry tells not only of love but also of the art of living. I have already devoured quite a few ‘flavors’. My colleague Daan swears by the Diamante, which is why I already know she is in the office when I walk down the hall. I have collected quite a number of scents and always choose one depending on the type of laundry. For example, I find Marseille really wonderfully soapy for sheets, I choose Petali di Rosa for pajamas and T-shirts, and I find Neve wonderfully fresh and subtle for my beloved's shirts.
And then something else
What I have also completely succumbed to are the cleaning products from Wasparfum.nl. Not only are the packages a lot nicer than the average supermarket product, but the scent makes you want to keep cleaning. With the all-purpose cleaner New York and Oslo, you just feel like wiping down your countertop one more time, and again, that lovely fresh scent lingers delightfully. While I was writing this piece, I naturally went to the site, and there I saw that they also sell dishwasher perfume. Immediately ordered in the scent Limone.
What I also find so cute is that the products are sent, but you are also welcome at owner Diana's place in Urk. I think I will take friend L with me sometime. Together on a laundry perfume pilgrimage, that sounds like fun to me.
