We would like to say one thing to radio men Coen and Sander

By
Coen and Sander

Coen Swijnenberg and Sander Lantinga can be heard every weekday in the morning show on radio station Joe. Never heard of it? Then we’re happy to help: you listen to great old hits from the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s. And I'm not really that into the radio, you know. I call in the car or I listen to my own playlist.

But now I have discovered Joe, especially Coen and Sander. I can honestly tell you: it’s hilarious. They are funny and well, it entertains me, stuck in that traffic jam. All fine, you might think. Still, I want to share something with these DJs. Very much. Because that whole radio station is on the rise and they want to grow bigger and reach a wider audience. That’s why I have the ultimate idea: play an hour of hits from the 00s every day. Because let’s be honest: that was almost 25 years ago, so those songs also fall into the ’old‘ category. And if you want to reach an audience of let’s say my age, the thirty-somethings: then this is your chance. An hour of indulgence with songs from the zeroes.

Let me refresh your memory:

Jody Bernal – Que Si, Que No
I Would Stay by Krezip
Britney Spears – “Oops!… I Did It Again” (2000)
Christina Aguilera – “Beautiful” (2002)
NSYNC – “Bye Bye Bye” (2000)
Justin Timberlake – “Cry Me a River” (2002)
Linkin Park – “In the End” (2000)
Eminem – “Lose Yourself” (2002)
The White Stripes – “Seven Nation Army” (2003)
OutKast – “Hey Ya!” (2003)
Usher – “Yeah!” (feat. Lil Jon & Ludacris) (2004)
Beyoncé – “Crazy in Love” (feat. Jay-Z) (2003)
Lady Gaga – “Just Dance” (2008)
Rihanna – “Umbrella” (feat. Jay-Z) (2007)
Coldplay – “Clocks” (2002)
Katy Perry – “I Kissed a Girl” (2008)

I mean, you’re already half singing along as soon as you read these titles, right? So I would like this message to reach Coen and Sander. And furthermore, we mainly want to say that we are fans of you. Big fans. You have humor. And nice things should be said out loud more often, I thought.
