All the nasty things Kanye West has done to Kim Kardashian

When Kanye West makes headlines, it's usually not a good sign. From his antisemitic remarks to rather conspicuous appearances on red carpets, Kanye always knows how to keep things stirred up. While we marvel from a distance, his immediate circle truly experiences the consequences of his behavior. And that also applies to Kim Kardashian. Although she has been divorced from him for a few years now, that doesn't mean he leaves her alone.

Kanye is fighting for custody of his children, or is he not?

During last week's MET Gala, Kim Kardashian was also present. For this trip to New York, she brought her eldest daughter North along. Although the girl did not appear at the event, Kim posted several videos on social media in which the two were getting ready together. For Kanye, that would have been enough at the time. According to Over the years, there have always been some rumors here and there. In 2023, Kim spoke out again in an episode of The Kardashians. “The one who was supposed to protect me (Kanye) – and still says in interviews that he will be my protector forever – is the one who hurts me the most. He was the one who started the rumor that I slept with Drake and that we had an affair. He publicly accused me of that throughout our entire marriage.” In that same year, Kim was spotted at one of Drake’s concerts. Here she even sang along with a soundbite of herself that is in the song Search & Rescue. he would have hired lawyer Kathy Johnson, who sent a letter to Kim's lawyers on behalf of the rapper. In the letter, Kanye would demand full custody of their children because Kim, according to the rapper, exploits them on social media. He also claimed he was not allowed to see his children, which goes against their divorce agreement. You might sense it coming, but the letter turns out to be fake. Johnson supposedly works for the law firm JB Law Firm in Palma, Spain, where Kanye currently lives, but that firm appears not to exist. Kim's team also considers all of this a stunt; her lawyer Laura Wasser never received the letter in question. For now, the custody battle seems less intense than expected, but with Kanye, that can always change.

Kanye calls their children a mistake

The custody letter may be fake, but that doesn't mean Kim comes out unscathed; and that goes for their children as well. In a recent interview with podcast maker DJ Akademiks, Kanye made some quite hurtful remarks. The rapper claimed that after just two months of dating, he felt that the relationship with Kim would not have a long future. He also said that he actually didn't want any children with her, but that God determined it that way. Quite painful to hear such things after an eight-year relationship and having four children together.

Kanye accuses Kim of controlling the children

Although Kim and Kanye share custody of their children, the rapper claims that his ex-wife is trying to have more control. The statements are related to a dispute over rapper Playboi Carti's music. In one of his songs, he raps about Kim's brand Skims; she appreciated this and posted an Instagram story about the song. Carti responded by asking if his ‘niece’ North could record something. To Kanye, this interaction came across as a sign that Kim would be open to that collaboration; and he was not pleased. On social media, he spoke out vehemently. “So a white woman has control over the names and images of my black children and then talks to Carti about the fact that she wants my daughter to sing a song with him.” Kanye seems to have gotten his way; the collaboration never happened.

Kanye ignores Kim's wishes

While Kanye can say anything about their daughter's musical endeavors, it seems that the opposite is not true. For his latest album, the rapper wrote the song ‘Lonely roads still go to sunshine’. Their daughter North was also featured on this song, but she was not the only one. Also P. Diddy and his son Christian Combs participated. Due to all the accusations surrounding Diddy, Kim absolutely did not want North to have anything to do with the song. She did everything she could to prevent its release. Kim enlisted legal help and filed trademarks for their children early on, so that no one could use their names without permission; Kanye reacted furiously. “Change it or I declare war and neither of us will recover from the public fallout,” he sent her in messages that he later shared on Instagram. An emergency hearing followed, and despite his absence, Kanye promised not to release the song. But, not surprisingly for the rapper, he broke that promise.

Kanye has a lot to say about Kim

It is now clear: if Kanye disagrees with something, he makes it known; and he does so in anything but a subtle way. After North appeared in a music video by singer FKA Twigs, Kanye made his voice heard on social media again; according to him, his daughter looked far too made up and mature in the video. On X, the rapper accused the Kardashians of sex trafficking and called Kim a pimp. That was not the only accusation. In one of his singles, he claims that Kim is the reason he became a Nazi, as she would keep him away from their children.

Kim has already endured quite a lot with her ex; and knowing Kanye, there will likely be more to come. Meanwhile, the lawsuit surrounding the robbery of her in Paris is also in full swing. She is still going through it, and we should take a moment to acknowledge that.
