Emily in Paris season 5: Emily goes Rome
and yes, it’s going to be wonderfully dramatic again

Emily in Paris season 5 takes us to Rome and promises everything we love: fashion, love, and a whole lot of drama. Here’s everything you want to know about the new season.
Emily in Paris season 5: Emily goes Italian
Yes indeed, Netflix is doing it again: Emily Cooper is going to broaden her horizons and leave Paris (for just a moment) to make her fashionable footprint in Rome. Season 5 of Emily in Paris largely takes place in the Eternal City and promises, of course, fashionable highlights, new loves, and – let’s be honest – enough drama to keep us entertained for at least ten episodes.
Rome: the new hotspot
Emily’s new adventure begins after she packs her bags at the end of season 4 to open a new office for Agence Grateau in Rome. Cue: la dolce vita, Vespas, espressos, and yes, a new flame named Marcello Muratori (played by the handsome Eugenio Franceschini). But don’t worry: good old Gabriel is still around, as he clearly has some unfinished business with our Emily.

Emily’s Italian transformation
And as if that’s not exciting enough, Lily Collins has already given a sneak peek on Insta: Emily is going for a short bob. Chic, edgy, and so fitting for her new life in Italy. The looks? Expect lots of couture with a Roman twist. A kind of La Parisienne meets Roman Holiday. We can’t wait for the first outfit recaps.
Filming locations to dream about
The series may be moving to Rome, but Paris will still be a little bit in the picture. Darren Star has confirmed that the French capital will always remain the heart of the series. But in season 5, it’s mainly iconic places like the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps where Emily will spread her magic. Tip: book tickets in advance, as these places will soon be flooded with fans.

When can we watch?
The big question: when can we finally binge? An exact release date is not yet available, but with filming starting in May 2025, we can cautiously hope for a release later this year. Perfect to brighten up those dark winter months with a hefty dose of Parisian (and Roman) romance.
The familiar and new faces
Almost everyone is returning for season 5: Lily Collins, Lucas Bravo, Ashley Park, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, and many more familiar faces. Newcomer Marcello is sure to cause quite a stir. Less good news: Camille Razat, our beloved Camille, is leaving. Her character has departed to adopt a child and start a new life – we will miss you, Camille!
What does Emily actually earn?
Just a juicy detail: Lily Collins reportedly earns around $300,000 per episode. With a season of ten episodes, you quickly reach $3 million. But hey, for that money, we should expect some haute couture and heartbreak, right?

5x why we already think season 5 is amazing
- Rome + fashion = match made in heaven.
- New romance with Marcello (and Gabriel who still can’t let go? YES PLEASE).
- Emily’s new bob – short but powerful.
- Paris is still a bit our BFF.
- Iconic spots like the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain finally get their Emily moment.
